The life of a first responder is one I chose decades ago and I love what I do. I’ve described it as “the greatest show on earth”. This calling will wear you down on all fronts. Getting outside is just one way I care for my head and my heart. John Muir says it well, “…break clear away, once in awhile, and climb a mountain or spend a week in the woods. Wash your spirit clean.”
